Samsung India released Galaxy Grand Prime 4G earlier this week, hanging a price tag of $175. Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is the latest 4G smartphone by Samsung and the launch of this phone raises the number of LTE enabled devices in India to 14.
Galaxy Grand Prime features a 5 inch qHD TFT display supported with a modest 560 x 960 pixels resolution. A 1.2GHz quad-core processor powers the phone. However the phone features a mere 1GB of RAM which is quite small.
It is a dual SIM phone that comes with 8GB of built-in memory, expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card.
Galaxy Grand Prime features a rear camera of 8 megapixels while the front is a 5 megapixels cam. This device provides a wide range of connectivity options including 3G, 4G, and micro-USB port. This 4G LTE device supports both TDD and FDD bands.
Galaxy Grand Prime 4G also supports micro SIM with two SIM slots and quite a few of its specs are similar to those seen in the 3G version launched in September last year.
It runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop) instead of KitKat 4.4 featured in the models of last year.
Galaxy Grand Prime 4G weighs only 156 grams and measures 144.8 x 72.1 x 8.6 mm in dimensions. Supported with Android Lollipop, this device also possesses a layer of Samsung’s proprietary Touch Wiz user interface. Power backup is provided by a 2600mAh battery and the company promises to provide 14 hours of talk time.
“Samsung is always motivated towards innovations to provide its users a better interface and deep insights”,
said Asim Warsi, VP Marketing Samsung India.
“After the launch of 4G Grand Prime, we aim to provide such mid-range devices in future to provide unparalleled smartphone experience with affordable prices“,
he added.
