A few months after the launch, the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II launched in other markets. However, the firm did not release the Xperia Pro smartphone into any market – what could have gone wrong?
Interestingly, the Xperia Blog has shared a fresh piece of information on the Xperia Pro. The report reveals that Sony could be gearing up to release the smartphone soon.
Leaks have it that the upcoming Xperia Pro has similar specifications with the Xperia 1 II. However, the Xperia Pro edged over the Xperia 1 II regarding lenses.
The Xperia Pro features cutting-edge photography and videography options for professionals. At first, the Japanese tech firm had plans to unveil the phone only in the United States, but it appears the Xperia Pro will launch other markets asides the US.
Meanwhile, the phone would likely arrive in the United States soon; its firmware has surfaced on Sony’s public servers.
The Sony Xperia Pro’s firmware has the build number 58.0.A.9.116. The handset would come with the Android 10 OS, and it has Android security patches for September 2020.
The handset’s firmware appearance suggests that Sony may announce the pre-order sales of the Xperia Pro smartphone in the coming weeks.
The Sony Xperia Pro would feature a 6.5-inch HDR OLED panel that supports 4K resolution. The screen has a Gorilla Glass 6 shield and an IP68 certification.
On the front, the Sony Xperia Pro comes with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
The rear camera of the handset comprises a 12-megapixel primary shooter, an ultrawide 12-megapixel lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor.
The telephoto sensor on the rear panel supports OIS, 70mm focal length, and 3x optical zoom.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 865 chip drives the Sony Xperia Pro. It offers the user 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS storage.
The phone also supports storage expansion via a microSD card.
For backup, the Xperia Pro relies on a 4,000mAh battery.
Other features of the Xperia Pro are a 360-degree antenna design, a hardware shortcut key, an HDMI micro connector, and a mmWave 5G.
