Dell Venue 8 Pro tab with Win 10, 4GB RAM launched

American multinational technology company, Dell, has announced the launch of its latest Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000 tablet, dubbed the Dell Venue 8 Pro 5855.

The Pro 5855 is easily seen as an upgrade to the popular Pro 5000 and it packs more processing power in it with upgraded software.

The original Dell Venue 8 Pro was launched back in 2014, and has since seen several iterations. The first upgrade, the Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000 came in 2016, sporting an 8-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) display – a nice improvement over the HD (1280×800 pixels) display its predecessor shipped with.

The Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000 Series tablet is still on sale on the company’s official website, where the starting price is listed as $449 (roughly 91,000 Naira). However, pricing details of the new Pro 5855 tablet is yet to be revealed.

The main improvements of the Dell Venue Pro 5855 over the Pro 5000 are a full-HD display, cellular connectivity support, and running the Windows 10 operating system out-of-the-box.

The new Dell Venue 8 Pro under the hood is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 SoC which is clocked at 1.44GHz (up to 2.24GHz). This is further coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC internal storage. There’s also a slot for a microSD card, which one can use to add up to 128GB storage to the device.

The Venue 8 Pro 5855 comes equipped with a USB Type-C connector, and has a Micro-SIM card slot. The tablet sports a 2 MP front facing camera and a 5 MP rear camera is also on board.

As connectivity options, the tablet offers support for NFC, Wi-Fi 2×2 802.11ac with Miracast, and Bluetooth 4.0. It is backed by a 19.5WHr Lithium Ion battery and comes with 64-bit Windows 10 Home or Pro edition.
