International Mobile firm Cubot has announced that its widely anticipated Cubot Note S smartphone will be launched in Kenya on the 12th of February 2016.
The Cubot Note S will be available exclusively on Kilimall and will be competing with brands like Infinix, Wiko and Tecno who have a huge presence in Kenya and other African countries.
The phone is already up for pre-orders and the Chinese firm says it aims give Kenyans premium smartphones at unbelievable prices. It added that it is working to remove all channel costs & bring the profit to the customer.
“As one of the top selling brands on Amazon globally, our Market research for Africa, pointed to a very high appreciation of our brand in Kenya which has also been driven by Kilimall. On further research we realized that many Kenyans are looking for high quality and affordable smartphones which are rare. We felt that we should reciprocate and create a phone that can deliver such a customized user experience, at an unbelievable price. ” Cubot Vice President Richard Meng said.
The Cubot Note S sports a 5.5 inch 1280 x 720 pixels HD screen with elegant round frames. It also comes with custom designed African themed back covers.
The smartphone runs the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 Operating System and is powered by a Quad Core 1.3 GHz CPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM. This promises a fast operation speed, which is quite amazing and impressive according to the firm.
The phone sports a 5.0 MP front camera for taking selfies, and there’s an 8.0 MP rear camera to capture moments via photos or videos.
Cubot Note S comes with 16 GB of internal memory for storing media files and apps. A memory card slot is also added which can allow extra storage of up to 32 GB.
The Cubot Note S comes with 4150 mAh battery which the company says can stay operational for two full days. The phone also supports dual SIM features and comes in Matte Black, Champagne Gold & Pearl White color options.
