Yet again, Coolpad has taken the cover off a new smartphone in China. The device called the COOL 12A is the latest member of the COOL series after the COOL 10 phone launched in June.
The COOL 12A arrives with some attractive features for a budget smartphone. It features a large-sized battery, which many mobile users are after today, and tall screen aspect ratio.
The COOL 12A handset weighs approximately 203 grams, and it has a dimension of 156.2 x 75.2 x 8.9mm.
According to the phone’s listing on JD.com, the rear panel of the phone is covered with glass.
On the front side, the COOL 12A debuts with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD, which has a waterdrop notch design at the top centre position. The screen offers the user with a 19:9 aspect ratio and an HD+ resolution.
Also, the display on the phone delivers a 93% screen-to-body ratio.
The COOL 12A is powered by a mysterious Spreadtrum chipset, which has three Cortex A55 CPU cores that clock at 1.8GHz. Also, the chipset includes one Cortex A75 CPU that clocks at 2.0GHz.
Out of the box, the phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. For storage expansion, it features a dedicated MicroSD card slot.
For the optics, the COOL 12A shelters an 8-megapixel selfie shooter in its on-screen punch hole. On the rear side, the square-shaped camera module houses a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The camera system features an LED flash.
A 4,000mAh battery supplies power to the COOL 12A smartphone. According to the company, the battery can last up to 14 days on standby.
On the security aspect, the handset offers the user with fingerprint and face unlock functions.
In China, the smartphone is available in three colour options such as dream black, dream blue, and fantasy silver.
The COOL 12A retails for 599 Yuan (~$88) in China.
