Sharp is not a well-known smartphone manufacturer in many markets – but in Japan – the reverse is the case.
Not long ago, a camera leaker shared information that hints that the Japanese firm is gearing to unveil the Sharp AQUOS R6 phone.
The leak further claims that the launch will take place on May 10 in Japan.
The official renders leaked by the tipster shows that Sharp partnered with Leica to offer its users improved and optimized camera performance on the upcoming AQUOS R6 smartphone.
The leaked images show the front and back view of the handset. The AQUOS R6 has a curved edge display with a punch-hole design at the centre.
The rear panel of the handset carries a slightly chunky camera module that appears to house two lenses.
Overall, the leaked renders have confirmed that the AQUOS R6 has a thick build.
For now, there is no information on the camera configurations of the upcoming AQUOS R6.
Meanwhile, Leica has been in partnership with Huawei since 2016. And both firms have successfully worked together to deliver good quality cameras on Huawei smartphones.
Hence, speculations believe that the Sharp AQUOS R6 smartphone would feature a top-notch camera system.
The AQUOS R6 smartphone would succeed the AQUOS R5, which launched last year.
The Sharp AQUOS R5 features a 6.5-inch IGZO panel that supports a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 856 processor fuels the AQUOS R5 smartphone. It offers the user 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
The AQUOS R5 has an IP68 rated frame and draws power from a 3,730mAh battery.
It remains to be seen whether the upcoming AQUOS R6 would feature improved specs and features over the AQUOS R5.
