It looks almost like other OEMs could not have waited for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 to launch as that was the unit supposed to usher in the SD 888+ chipset. Now that the launch of that device has happened, we have confirmed that the ASUS ROG Phone 5S will make the market on August 16 also.

Those with a keen eye would have already recalled that we have an ASUS ROG Phone 5 in the market already. Seeing that an S is only going to be added here this time, we should not be expecting that major of an upgrade anymore.

In fact, it seems that the major thing to look forward to here is the addition of this new chipset to replace the older SD 888 chipset that was in the older device. ASUS could make things interesting with the addition of some new colours, and maybe an additional RAM variant.

For now, that is all we know about the device and we are sure that they will make it worth our while, even in terms of the pricing.
