Alcatel has updated its Pop series of smartphones by launching the Alcatel Pop 4, Pop 4+, Pop 4S at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona.
The company however is yet to announce price and availability details of the three new smartphones, which all run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Alcatel Pop 4 is the smallest of the trio- it comes in a 5 inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display with a pixel density of 293ppi.
Under the hood, it packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.1GHz. This is further paired with 1GB RAM and an 8GB internal memory. The memory can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD slot if more space is needed.
Backed by a 2500mAh battery, the handsets features an 8-megapixel rear camera alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 84.4-degree wide angle and LED flash assistance.
The Alcatel Pop 4+ has a larger 5.5-inch HD display with pixel density of 267ppi. The smartphone has the same processor as the Alcatel Pop 4 but sports a 1.5GB RAM.
It has 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. The rest of its specs are the same as the Alcatel Pop 4.
The Alcatel Pop 4S also houses a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display but has a pixel density of 400ppi.
It is backed by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (four cores at 1.8GHz + four cores at 1GHz), clubbed with 2GB RAM.
There’s 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via a microSD card up to 64GB. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus and Electronic Image Stabalisation.
A wide-angle 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash is also on board for taking selfies and making video calls. The Alcatel Pop 4S is further backed by a 2960mAh battery and bears a fingerprint scanner as well.
While the Alcatel Pop 4 and the Pop 4+ feature 4G LTE (Cat. 4), the Pop 4S features 4G LTE (Cat. 6). The three smartphones will come bundled with JBL headphones, the firm added.
