Acer has announced the arrival of its Liquid Zest Plus smartphone at an event in New York. The Acer Liquid Zest Plus was showcased at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona two months ago.
The biggest highlight of the smartphone is its massive battery. The device packs a huge 5000mAh battery which promises up to 3 days of battery life. In addition, the battery supports the fast charging functionality.
The Liquid Zest Plus has been priced at $250 (that’s close to 50,000 naira) and will be available in Pure White and Metallic Blue color options.
Acer added that the device will be available the United States in the near future and will be launched in other areas in the coming weeks.
The Acer Liquid Zest Plus features a 5.5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) display in a trim body design with round edges. Its speaker is located at the back and it has no physical home button on it.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek (MT6735) SoC running at a frequency of 1.3GHz.
This is further paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM to offer moderate services when multitasking.
It also has 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via a microSD slot if one runs out of storage space.
Acer Liquid Zest Plus also excels in the picture taking department. It bears a 13 megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash.
The rear camera comes with a new feature dubbed tri-focus which includes features such as laser, contrast, and phase detection.
There’s a 5 megapixel selfie camera with 85 degree wide-angle lens which is suitable for making video calls.
The Acer Liquid Zest Plus runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and sports a 3.5mm audio jack which offers DTS HD Sound.
The device is expected to provide a direct competition with other smartphones with gigantic batteries such as the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo, and Asus ZenFone Max.
