Acer Liquid Jade 2, Liquid Zest launched

Taiwanese phone producer, Acer has launched the Liquid Jade 2 flagship smartphone, the Liquid Zest and Zest 4G variant.

Pricing details or availability of the Acer Liquid Jade 2 smartphone are yet to be released. The Acer Liquid Zest however will be available in EMEA regions in April at a starting price of EUR 109 (that’s about 27,000 Naira).

The Acer Liquid Zest 4G will go on sale in the same regions starting May with a price tag of EUR 149 (approximately 36,000 Naira).

The Acer Liquid Jade 2 features a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD Amoled display with 176-degree wide-viewing angles which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The smartphone also comes with Zero Air Gap technology, which Acer claims will help improve readability under sunlight.

Powering the handset is a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The phone has 32GB of inbuilt storage and runs on an unspecified version of the Android OS. The device also supports up to 1TB hybrid storage, which integrates local storage with cloud storage.

The Liquid Jade 2 sports a 21-mgapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, dual LED flash, and 4K video recording support.

There is an 8-megapixel front camera on board as well.The smartphone supports 4G LTE Cat.6 apart from 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. It also packs USB Type-C port.

The Acer Liquid Zest on the other hand has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor.

On the camera front, the smartphone packs an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front camera.

Acer did not mention which chipset it has nor its RAM but it’s expected they’ll be good enough to get the job done.

The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with DTS Sound Studio, which the company claims offers higher vocal clarity and more natural details while on the move.

The main difference between the Acer Liquid Zest 4G and its 3G variant is that the 4G model is powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor and packs DTS HD Premium Sound technology.
