Xiaomi has come a long way in the smartphone market and we can see that in the success of their flash sale from today again.
After launching the Redmi K20 Pro, the company scheduled the first sale for 10am on June 1, 2019. Just 15 minutes to the second hour after the sale started, Xiaomi took to its Weibo page to claim that they had sold all 200,000 units that was put up.
To put things in context, the company sold 200,000 units of their phone in less than 2 hours, and this is not even a flagship device.
If you were also online but couldn’t get one, Xiaomi doesn’t want you to fret. They are working on making new units available which will go on sale by June 4. If you really do want it, now is the time to start prepping your moves.
What is the fuss all about?
Well, the Redmi K20 Pro is a 6.39-inch unit designed with the AMOLED panel from Samsung while carrying an FHD+ resolution to match. This screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 technology while also carrying an in-display fingerprint sensor, just like the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus.
The main difference between this device and the one from Samsung is that it embraces neither the notch nor screen hole tech, rather going for a motorized pop-up selfie camera (like we have on the OnePlus 7 Pro).
On the back is one of the biggest arrays of triple cameras we have seen on any device – 48MP main sensor paired with both of 13MP and 8MP on the back. The selfie unit is a single sensor of 20MP rating, but that takes nothing away from the power of images it can deliver.
Under the hood, you can choose either of the 6GB RAM option which comes with 64GB and 128GB storage picks, or go all out for the 8GB model with as much as 256GB on it. Rounding that off is a QUALCOMM snapdragon 855 processor and 4000mAh of battery to match.
