Towards the end of 2022, Xiaomi announced the much-anticipated Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship in its home country.
The handset arrived as the world’s first smartphone to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
Within the first week of announcement, Xiaomi teased the global launch of its latest flagship – the Xiaomi Mi 11.
However, multiple reports have speculated the existence of a mid-range smartphone in the Mi 11 series. The device carries the name Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite.
It is rumoured that the Chinese phone maker will unveil the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite at the global launch event of the standard Mi 11 smartphone.
Unfortunately, the launch time frame of the Mi 11 in the global market and the Mi 11 Lite remain unknown.
Meanwhile, a recent leak from a tipster mentions that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is one of the nine Xiaomi smartphones scheduled for launch in Q1 2021.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite’s appearance on the database of the Federal Communications Commission confirmed its moniker. The phone’s FCC listing reveals its model number as M2101K9AG.
The listing further revealed that the phone would feature MIUI 12, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and 4,150mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
The information also mentions that the phone would come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of storage. That means the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite will be available in two storage variants.
Recently, the Bureau of Indian Standards approved a Xiaomi device with the model number M2101K9AI. The handset appears to be the Indian variant of the upcoming Mi 11 Lite.
Earlier this month, a YouTuber from Vietnam claims that the Xiaomi device would feature a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 732G chipset, and a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 5-megapixel triple camera setup.
