Infinix Mobility, through an OTA update, have added the trending Face Unlock feature to her last years flagship device from the Note Series — the Infinix Note 4.
This comes not-too-long after the OEM released the sequel and upgrade (Infinix Note 5 and Note 5 Pro) to the Note 4.
Right after Apple introduced the Face Unlock feature as the Face ID on the iPhone X, many other popular OEMs have also introduced the feature on their devices. The Face Unlock feature is a major selling point in any flagship smartphone in this age and time.
Infinix Mobility first introduced the Face Unlock feature out of the box on the Infinix Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro. The feature has subsequently been introduced via over-the-air updates to other devices like the Zero 5, Zero 5 Pro, and Hot S3.
The Face Unlock feature has been added in the 3rd over-the-air update on the Infinix Note 4 and Note 4 Pro.
The most important feature in the update the Face Unlock feature — which came in the form of a new app. At the moment, the Infinix Note 4 Face Unlock can only be used to unlock the device and not other proposes like app lock or verification.
The Face Unlock app uses the phone’s front camera to scan and verify the users face. Scanning is relatively quick and fast. When in the dark, night-time, or places with low light conditions, the front facing flashlight lightens comes in to lighten up user’s face for easy facial verification.
The OTA update is about 350MB in size and is out in the final version. You can update your Note 4 to the latest Android 8.1 version with Face Unlock in Settings Menu >> System >> System Update.
