ZTE has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone in Mexico under the Blade L9 moniker. The handset debuts with modest specs such as the Android Go Edition OS, a Unisoc chip, and a low-resolution display. But all these specifications compensate for its affordable price tag.

Specifications of the ZTE Blade L9

The handset sports a 5-inch TFT panel, and it supports an 18:9 aspect ratio alongside a screen resolution of 960 x 480 pixels. The top bezel on the front side houses the 5-megapixel selfie camera that allows the user to take selfies and make video calls.

The ZTE Blade L9 packs a single 8-megapixel camera alongside an LED flash for lighting on the back. The phone’s left side sports a micro-USB port, and its right spine houses the volume rockers and the power button.

The top edge of the phone has the iconic 3.5mm audio jack. And the fascinating thing about the Blade L9’s design is that its bottom edge is free of ports or buttons – how unusual.

However, the Unisoc SC7731E chip comprises a 1.3GHz quad-core processor that oversees the operations of the ZTE Blade L9. It comes with 1GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Out of the box, the handset is pre-loaded with the Android 11 Go Edition, and it houses a 2,000mAh battery for backup. The Blade L9 also supports other features like dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2.

The handset will arrive in Mexico in colors like Blue and Black, and it will retail for MXN 1,699 (~$83).

Lately, several reports have claimed that OPPO is working on a new smartphone; and the phone would launch under the OPPO Reno6 Lite moniker. The infamous Reno6 lineup already includes smartphones like the Reno6 Z, Reno6 4G, Reno6, Reno6 Pro, and Reno6 Pro+.

Meanwhile, a reliable tipster has shared a leaked promo video. And the clip has revealed the design and some of the specs of the upcoming OPPO Reno6 Lite.

Specifications of the OPPO Reno6 Lite

The OPPO Reno6 Lite has an AMOLED screen with a punch-hole for the selfie shooter. The display features an under-display fingerprint scanner and delivers a Full HD+ resolution.

Inside, the handset houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It would debut with a Qualcomm-powered chip alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Interestingly, the device would offer the user an additional 5GB of virtual RAM.

The backside of the OPPO Reno6 Lite packs a triple camera system that encompasses a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

The handset offers photography features like night mode, AI scene enhancement, and so on. However, previous reports have revealed that the upcoming Reno6 Lite would arrive as a revamped model of the OPPO F19 handset that arrived in India last April.

According to rumors, the OPPO Reno6 Lite may sport features like a 16-megapixel front-facing snapper, the Snapdragon 662 processor, and Android 11 OS.

Recently, a report by Sammobile mentioned that the Fan Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S21 would go official at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show. And the show is scheduled to hold between January 5 and January 8 in Las Vegas.

The Sammobile claims weren’t precise. However, a fresh piece of information from a reliable tipster – Jon Prosser – has revealed the exact launch information and availability of the Galaxy S21 FE.

The tipster further revealed that the next-gen Galaxy S-series would break cover at 10 AM ET on February 8, 2022. And it’s likely the pre-order sales of the Galaxy S22 series will begin on the launch date.

News surrounding the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition mentions that it would debut with a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen that promises a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution. The handset could feature the Exynos 2100 or Snapdragon 888 chipset, depending on the region it’s going. It may pack 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

Talking cameras, the front-facing snapper on the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has a resolution of 32-megapixel. And the back panel sports a triple camera setup that comprises a 12-megapixel IOS-enabled primary lens, an ultrawide 12-megapixel camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto shooter.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE carries a 5,000mAh battery, and it supports 25W charging.

Many reports have stated that Samsung has already started work on the next-generation Galaxy S-series devices – Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. And the reports can be partly believed considering that Samsung has cultivated the habit of unveiling new smartphones at the beginning of the year.

Meanwhile, the reports further mentioned that the South Korean tech giant would probably launch the Samsung S-series smartphones in February instead of January.

Surprisingly, the color options of the upcoming Samsung S-series have surfaced online. And it appears that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus smartphones will arrive in five color variants: White, Pink, Black, Green, and Gold, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra will debut in Black, White, Green, and Dark Red.

Remember that Samsung will make the various color options of the Galaxy S22 series available in all regions, but some color hues may be exclusive to specific locations. And there’s no news yet on the region exclusive color options of the next-gen Galaxy S-series.

Regarding production, a recent prediction by Ross Young says that Samsung will begin mass production of the Galaxy S22 series in the first week of December. If the forecast is accurate, Samsung will need more time to produce enough smartphones in the upcoming series.

The late production seems to justify the need for Samsung to postpone the launch time frame from the usual January to February. The mass production of the present Galaxy S21 series began in late October 2020, which is probably why the company was able to meet up with the January launch window.

After a while in the dark, Huawei is planning to make a resounding comeback in the flagship smartphone category by announcing the Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones.

Meanwhile, reports show that the Chinese smartphone maker plans to take the covers off the handset in the first quarter of 2022. Unfortunately, the company is keeping a tight lip regarding the launch details of the upcoming Huawei Mate 50 series. But we know it will debut within the first three months of 2022.

Going by previous speculations, the Mate 50 series would arrive in March 2022. But since Huawei is yet to confirm the launch details of the series, it would be best if you took the information with a grain of salt.

Recall, Huawei slated the Mate 50 series to launch this year. But following the arrival of the Huawei P50 lineup in July – which came later than the speculated time – Huawei postponed the launch of the next-generation smartphone lineup.

Speculations say that the smartphones in the Mate 50 series would carry the Snapdragon 898 SoC. Unlike the processor in other smartphones, the Huawei Mate 50 series’ SoC will only support 4G connectivity.

The Huawei Mate 50 series may debut with LTPO displays – the same display technology on the recently released iPhone 13 series. And this means that the Mate 50 handsets may support adaptive refresh rates and a high refresh rate.
