9mobile, the fourth largest telecommunications operator in Nigeria, has announced the appointment of Alan Sinfield as the new CEO. The company described him as a seasoned telecoms expert, hence his appointment.
9mobile, in a statement, named Alan Sinfield as Stephan Beuvelet’s successor. Stephan, the former CEO of the company, held the position in an acting capacity since November 2018.
Sinfield was formerly the Chief Executive Officer at Amara Communications Co, a 4G LTE mobile operator in Myanmar. Before Amara, he was the CEO at Cadcomms in Cambodia and many other reputable telecom companies across Africa and Asia.
“Having held leadership positions at several mobile, fixed-line, and broadband data operators as well as media, retail, and wholesale distribution businesses across rising markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, Sinfield brings along with him a wealth of global operational expertise,” 9mobile stated.
According to Sinfield, the Nigerian telecoms industry is one that is characterized by strong competition.

Commenting on the appointment of the new CEO, Alhaji Nasir Bayero, the Chairman of 9mobile said, Sinfield’s knowledge and experience of building highly efficient and high-performance firms will play a vital role in strengthening the company’s market position in the highly competitive telecoms industry.
