Xiaomi has already introduced a Redmi 10 line of devices but the company does not seem to be done with the Redmi 9 series yet. In fact, they have just launched two new units with the Redmi 9 name to the Indian market.
Although they made no fuss around this launch, the Redmi 9i and Redmi 9A Sport are now shipping to shelves from where they will get into the hands of users who want them.
Even though they have the sport moniker in their names, though, these units are not made to be especially rugged. That might just be a naming tactic to get the younger generation interested in the devices even more.
Looking at the specs sheet, the 6.53-inch Redmi 9i Sport seems to be the most premium of the bunch with a 4GB RAM and 128GB storage option to match. This beats the 2GB RAM obtainable on the Redmi 9A Sport which features the same screen dimensions.
The best part is that you can choose the 3GB option for the latter phone also.
In the camera department, the Redmi 9i Sport comes with a front/ selfie 5MP cam and a single 13MP snapper on the back. In a world where even entry level phones have more than one rear cameras, we don’t know why Xiaomi chose to go this way.
This is the same configuration that comes with the Redmi 9A Sport. In fact, both units sport (no pun intended) a 5000mAh battery.
If you are in the Indian market and you like what you see on these devices, head over to the official Xiaomi website or official retailers to pick one up.
