Several smartphone manufacturers have started launching some of the devices slated to roll out in the second half of the year. Many others have begun teasing the launch of smartphones ranging from entry-level phones to high-end phones.
Like other tech giants, OPPO is not looking to be a spectator. The company, yesterday, announced the OPPO A53 smartphone in Indonesia. The phone carries a price tag of IDR 2,499,000 (~$170).
Presently, the phone is listed on an Indonesian retail site, Lazada, for pre-orders. Not long after the phone’s launch in Indonesia, the Indian arm of the firm confirmed that the OPPO A53 would debut in India on August 25.
OPPO, through its official Twitter handle, mentioned that the launch event would start at 12:30 PM (local time) on August 25.
The poster uploaded alongside the tweet revealed the front and rear designs of the OPPO A53 phone. Following the launch of the phone in Indonesia, its specifications are no longer a mystery.
The phone sports a 6.5-inch LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It supports HD+ resolution and a 90Hz screen refresh rate. The display has a tall aspect ratio of 20:9.
The OPPO A53 sets a record as the first phone to debut with the Snapdragon 460 chipset.
The phone offers the user with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It comes with a MicroSD card slot for additional storage.
The punch-hole at the front of the device houses the 16-megapixel selfie snapper. On the phone’s back panel, a rectangular module houses a triple camera setup and an LED flash. The setup includes a 13-megapixel primary lens and a pair of 2-megapixel sensors.
The OPPO A53 arrives with ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10.
