OnePlus is here again, and this time, we cannot wait to see what they have in the works.
The company has put out a post to recruit elite, savvy users of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro that will take part in an OxygenOS beta test for the device. As should be expected, this means that the company is about to add some new features to the device via a software update and would like to get testers that are interested in providing feedback as it goes along with the implementation.
It seems that this is in preparation for the launch of Android 12 to these units, but we have to wait for official confirmation first.
As of the time of this writing, you can join the elite group of beta testers if you own either of these flagships – and you are an active community member. That way, the company can be sure that you are not just in the beta program for early access but you will also work with them to improve things.
On the business end of things, you will have to sign an NDA with the brand so that you don’t go spewing all their new and special features to the public.
If you feel like you are ready for this, know that beta updates are not stable and could break things on your device. On the other hand, they are fun because you get access to new things that the public is not aware of yet – even some that the public would not later get.
