Two months ago, the gaming arm of Nubia announced the RedMagic 6 and RedMagic 6 Pro smartphones.
Both handsets feature the powerful Snapdragon 888 mobile platform processor.
Today, the firm took to its Weibo page to announce the launch information of the much-anticipated RedMagic 6R.
Nubia mentioned that the handset would debut in China at 3 PM (local time) on May 27.
Meanwhile, a Nubia smartphone with model number NX666J appeared at the database of the TEENA certification authority last month.
A while later, the NX666J smartphone surfaced at the Bluetooth SIG authority as Nubia RedMagic 6R.
The Bluetooth SIG listing of the phone mentions that it will carry support for Bluetooth 5.2.
A few days into May, 3C approved the smartphone. And speculations hinted that the launch of the smartphone is near – they were right after all.
The TEENA listing of the handset shows that it features a 6.67-inch OLED screen that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.
Presently, the refresh rate of the display is unconfirmed. However, it will be either 120Hz or 144Hz.
The RedMagic 6R would likely debut with the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform as well. It will offer the user 6GB / 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB of native storage.
The rear camera setup includes a 64-megapixel primary camera. It sports a 16-megapixel front-facing lens that allows the user to take selfies and make video calls.
The handset sports an under-display fingerprint scanner, and it relies on a 4,100mAh battery for backup.
Further, the RedMagic 6R supports 55W of rapid charging.
Leaks suggest that the RedMagic 6R may be positioned lower than the RedMagic 6, which retails for 3,799 Yuan (~$590).
