In March 2020, Black Shark unveiled two gaming-focused smartphones – Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro.
Though the duo arrived during the global pandemic, the company recorded good sales.
Before now, speculations have suggested that the firm may announce the fourth generation of the gaming smartphone by March 2021.
The CEO of Black Shark Technology, Luo Yuzhou, hinted the arrival of the Black Shark 4 smartphone through Weibo yesterday.
On the platform, Luo hinted that the upcoming Black Shark device would be truly invincible.
Meanwhile, before the Snapdragon 888 chip debuted, Luo had claimed that the next Black Shark handset would be one of the first smartphone OEMs to come with the powerful processor.
Therefore, it is safe to assume that the Black Shark 4 would run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Last year, the brand launched two devices under the Black Shark 3 lineup. Speculations believe that the company might follow the same trend for the Black Shark 4.
Hence, the Black Shark 4 may come in an advanced Pro variant as well.
However, it is unclear whether the next-generation Black Shark smartphone will carry the Black Shark 4 moniker as the number ‘4’ is termed a bad omen in the Chinese culture.
It remains to be seen whether the next phone would carry the Black Shark 5 or 4 moniker.
