Lenovo of recent has been aggressive, launching one new smartphone after the other into the market with vigor. Its latest arrival is the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo, an upgraded variant of the Vibe P1 smartphone.
The smartphone is available for pre-orders in Indonesia at IDR 3,999,000 (roughly 60,000 Naira) and will be available in Silver, Graphite Gray, and Gold colour options.
This puts it in the league of the Lenovo Vibe X3, which is currently retailing in India via Amazon. Availability details of the smartphone outside the region are not yet known. However, it shouldn’t be long before the company releases it for the Indian markets.
The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM + Micro-SIM) supporting Vibe P1 Turbo shares almost all the specifications with that of the Lenovo Vibe P1, but has a slightly improved rear camera.
While the Vibe P1 features a 13-megapixel rear camera, the Vibe P1 Turbo features a 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera.
The rest of the innards remain the same though. The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and has a powerful 5000mAh battery. It comes in a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with pixel density of 401ppi.
Under the hood, there’s a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz; Adreno 405 GPU, and 3GB of RAM.
Lenovo’s product page however mentions that the phone sports both 2GB and 3GB of RAM, both 13-megapixel and 16-megapixel camera, and both a 4900mAh battery (minimum) and a 5000mAh battery (typical) as well.
There’s 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB on the phone. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, measures 75.6×9.9×152.9mm and weighs 187 grams.
Connectivity features of the phone include USB OTG, FM Radio, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, and Wi-Fi Hotspot. Also featured are accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
Lenovo’s handsets have a wide reach in India and the addition of the Vibe P1 Turbo should go well with the name and recognition it has built up over the past one year with devices like the K3 Note, Vibe K4 Note as well as the newly launched Vibe X3.
