Spanish smartphone brand Funker has announced the arrival of its first Windows 10 powered smartphone, the Funker W5.5 Pro.
The mid-range phone has a pretty basic design and can stand up to a certain amount of exposure thanks to its water-resistant casing. It has an ultra-thin design that’s just 6.9mm-thick – even slimmer than Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus. Overall the phone has a minimalist look.
The Funker W5.5 Pro is priced at €239 (that’s about 54,900 Naira) and is only on sale in Spain at the moment. It wasn’t mentioned whether the phone will be available in other countries or not.
The smartphone comes in a 5.5-inch HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720. It measures 154.8mm x 78.6mm x 6.9mm and weighs 135g. It is available only in the black color.
The Funker W5.5 Pro under the hood is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, which is guaranteed to give a seamless user experience. It also runs Windows 10 out of the box.
There’s 16GB of internal storage on the phone which is expandable via a microSD card up to 128GB. The phone carries a 13 megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 1080p video capture. A 5 megapixel snapper is also on board for taking selfies and making video calls.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and micro USB 2.0. The Windows 10 smartphone also packs a 2600 mAh battery which is believed to offer a decent battery life.
A growing number of brands have unveiled new Windows handsets in recent months – including the Acer Liquid Jade Primo, NuAns NEO, Bush Eluma, and Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL with Windows 10 Mobile, among others. Later this week, VAIO is expected to reveal a new device running Microsoft’s mobile OS.
