A couple of months ago, Black Shark announced two high-end smartphones; the Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro gaming smartphones. Both phones featured the powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset.
At the start of July, Qualcomm announced the upgraded version of the SD 865 chipset and named it the Snapdragon 865 Plus. After the launch of the new chipset, rumours about the plans of the company to announce an upgraded Black Shark 3 was aired.
The upcoming device from the firm will feature the new Snapdragon 865 Plus chip and may likely go official soon.
Sometime last week, the CEO of Black Shark, Luo Yuzhou took to one of his social media pages to tease the announcement of the new Black Shark 3S gaming device.
As of today, the company has officially announced that it will unveil the Black Shark 3S phone come July 31 in China.
A poster was released as regards the new smartphone. It only revealed the launch date, and the time the launch event will commence. The launch event will start by 3 PM in China on July 31.
The poster did not reveal any other information about the phone but, according to a recent leak, the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset could be the only significant upgrade on the Black Shark 3S.
The Black Shark 3 arrived with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. It offers a Full HD+ resolution and has a refresh rate of 90Hz. If the rumours turn out to be correct, the Black Shark 3S will feature an S-AMOLED display and offer a higher screen refresh rate.
As stated earlier, the SD 865 Plus chipset could be the major upgrade on the Black Shark 3S so, the smartphone will likely borrow some of the features on the Black Shark 3.
The Black Shark 3 comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. It featured a 20MP selfie snapper and a 64MP triple camera system on its rear. A 4,720mAh battery serves as the phone’s source of power, and it carries support for 65W fast charging.
