With all indications, the arrival of the next-gen ASUS ROG Phone may be closer than expected. Recently, the smartphone bagged approval from the 3C authority of China and TEENA.
Today, the phone appeared in the database of Geekbench benchmarking platform. It seems that the brand is testing the performance of the phone before launch.
On Geekbench, the ROG Phone 5 with model number ASUS_I005DA features the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
The smartphone has the codename ‘Lahaina,’ and it offers the user 16GB of RAM – quite impressive.
From the documents, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 will come pre-loaded with the Android 11 OS. The smartphone gathered 1125 points in the single-core test and 3713 points in the multi-core test.
Last year December, an 8GB RAM variant of the ROG Phone 5 surfaced on Geekbench also. The TEENA listing of the handset revealed that it measures 172.8 x 77.3 x 10.3mm.
The listing further mentions that the smartphone may arrive with a massive 6.78-inch OLED panel that supports a high refresh rate.
The upcoming ROG Phone 5 draws power from a 6,000mAh battery. And it’s 3C certification hints that it could arrive with support for 65W rapid charging.
So far, the images of the ROG Phone 5 that have leaked suggests that the phone features a secondary display on the rear side.
The images also suggest that the next-generation handset would offer the user an optimized gaming experience.
Presently, the Taiwan-based firm is yet to announce the launch date of the ASUS ROG Phone 5. However, speculations say a plethora of new smartphones would debut in China after the Chinese New Year.
The Chinese New Year falls on February 12, and the ROG Phone 5 is likely among the phones to launch after the celebration.
