We made the announcement sometimes ago that the first developer preview for Android P was out. In the same time, Google let us know the timeframe for development that it would be employing on the device. Today, we are happy to announce to you that the first beta rollout of the new software has started to hit some smartphones.
We know that it won’t come as a surprise if we told you the Pixels were getting this. Likewise, it might not be much of a shot to tell you that Essential Phones are getting it too. What is interesting, however, is the fact that the same update is being rolled out to Sony, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Xiaomi and even Nokia devices.
There are a lot of neat features that the first beta update has started teasing already. Doing a quick roundup, some of such things that you will find as fancy additions are
- Improved gesture-based navigation systems
- Adaptive battery
- Adaptive brightness
- Predicted actions
- Digital Wellbeing features
If you are interested in getting the beta update, note that the download has gone live as of today. You will also be able to get it if you use any of the Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21, OnePlus 6 or the Essential Phone.
